On January 1, 1989; Hemant Modi, Architect and Interior Designer formed MODI ARCHITECTS in Mumbai, India.
After graduating from the Academy of Architecture, Hemant worked for a couple of prestigious Architectural firms in Mumbai before starting his own practice as planned.
As the Principal Architect and CEO of MODI ARCHITECTS, Hemant grew the firms revenues and a team of five. The firm provided excellent project delivery services to Sah Petroleums Limited, Armour Chemicals Limited and several other clients in India for over a decade.
With successful projects completed in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Baroda and Pune in India, Hemant decided to expand his horizons and moved to USA.
Growth in Arizona created opportunities for Hemant in Phoenix. Starting as a Project Manager with a local Architectural firm, Hemant worked on projects for Peter Piper pizza, Trader Joes, Old Navy, Discount Tire Company, LGE Design Build, Wespac Construction, Chicken Out Rotisserie and several other local clients. Spectrum Aerospace project won an award at the City of Tempe for the best design in the Office manufacturing facility category.
In 2003, Hemant joined a western US regional firm as a Senior Project Manager and was promoted to a Team Leader, Associate in a couple of years. Hemant was the Lead Architect for numerous Retail Power Center projects as large as 100 acres. He successfully executed projects for Diversified Partners, DeRito Partners, Terrazona, Grosvenor Holdings, Communities Southwest, Frontera Development and several local developers. Two projects won Architectural Design Awards at the City of Chandler.
In 2007, Hemant was hired by a National A&E firm as the Business Leader, Senior Associate and Retail Department Manager for SW USA. With the Phoenix office as the hub for SW USA, Hemant also managed the 2 branch offices in California and one in Seattle. Hemant managed a team of 20, coordinated with the office in the midwest and took a lead for Business Development with national retail developers. Hemant successfully led the team for projects for Lowes, Fresh & Easy, Petsmart and other retail clients. As the country manager for India, Hemant helped acquire a firm, created the entity, assisted account managers with business development and open an office in Mumbai, India. Hemant also monitored projects in China. As the Director of Architecture, Hemant was responsible for developing a team of 8 for a national firm for development of Zara, Inditex projects in USA in 2013. Hemant is a Registered Architect with NCARB holding licenses for 22 states currently. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
With 27 years of experience in India, Arizona, USA and Internationally, as a Principal Architect, Hemant has incorporated MODI ARCHITECTS, USA to provide A&E services.
